The Loyaltynet™ Engine

What is it?

The Loyaltynet™ Engine is the primary product of Loyaltynet Limited.

The Loyaltynet™ Engine specification is to provide a highly customisable engine with which our clients can setup an online incentive scheme or loyalty programme quickly, easily and with a minimum of fuss.

Sounds good, but what is it really?

Put simply, The Loyaltynet™ Engine is a series of active server pages and libraries that provide an interface to a database. Currently server pages are written in PHP running on an Apache web server and the database is PostgreSQL.

Loyaltynet Limited are steadfast supporters of the Open Source movement and the Loyaltynet™ Engine relies on a number of Open Source technologies:-

• The Loyaltynet™ Engine is written in PHP.
• The database behind The Loyaltynet™ Engine is PostgreSQL.
• Customisable pages are processed using an inhouse interpreter of WakkaFormat. WakkaFormat is a derivative of the formats used in WakkaWiki (a now defunct wiki project) and Mediawiki.
• All of our servers run one of the many flavours and versions of Linux,
• The Loyaltynet™ Engine is tested on Firefox and Internet Explorer, our preferred internet clients are Firefox, Mozilla or Internet Explorer.
