Press Release20 September 2004SABRE TRAVEL NETWORK CHOOSES LOYALTYNET FOR LAUNCH OF UK LOYALTY PROGRAMME FOR CAR BOOKINGSSabre Travel Network has launched a loyalty programme for selected car group bookings. Sabre AutoRewards will enable Sabre Connected agencies in the UK to accumulate reward points when making car bookings through the global distribution system (GDS). The programme will apply to all car rental companies and for all rates of hire. This is Sabre Travel Network's first UK loyalty programme. Hamish Broom, the company's director of airline, hotel and car distribution in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, said the initiative was designed to show travel agents how quick, easy and cost effective it is to book car hire in the GDS. Europcar is Sabre Travel Network's launch partner for the programme and during September all car bookings made with Europcar will receive double AutoRewards points. Paul Broughton, head of rental sales at Europcar UK, said: "We are delighted to be Sabre Travel Network's launch partner for this programme. Reward programmes such as these are an important part of business today, and I am confident that this one will be an outstanding success." Travel agencies will be able to register with the programme online through Sabre Travel Network's Internet-based Agency e-Services customer support facility. Depending on the car group booked, agents will earn points that can be redeemed for John Lewis products. A series of road shows with participating vendors will take place later in the year throughout the UK.
