Loyaltynet have two new business ideas shortlisted at Startup Weekend London
12th September 2011
Over the last two days (and nights) Loyaltynet attended StartUp Weekend London at Ravensbourne College, Greenwich, next to the O2 Arena.
Startup Weekend is an intense 54-hour event, that focuses on building web or mobile applications, which could form the basis of credible businesses, over the course of a weekend. The weekend brings together people with different skill sets; primarily software developers, graphics designers and business people, to build applications and develop a commercial case around them.
StartUp Weekend began on Friday evening, with 63 business ideas being pitched to the 200+ delegates. Twenty of these new ventures were selected for further development over the weekend. Loyaltynet's two pitches were both selected.
Luuvv.com which enables fans of anyone or anything (maybe a celebrity, a sports team, a book, a film, a band, a radio station, a TV programme, a holiday destination) to express their appreciation by more than just a Facebook 'like'; they can show how much they 'love'.
MeBetYouBet.com enables friends to bet among themselves on any subject they like from sports, to news, to personal activities such as whether someone is going to be late, or buy a round of drinks, or what they may choose to eat.
Philip Thomson, Managing Director at Loyaltynet said, "We are delighted to have both our business ideas picked and further developed. It was particularly encouraging to have a significant number of business people recognise the potential of both initiatives and help us make major steps forward with regard to defining the commercial proposition"
